What Are Segments?
This topic explains what segments are and where to locate them in Strava. Additionally, this topic shows which features you can receive with the subscription version of Strava.
A subscription account is required to unlock the majority of the features in Segments.
Segments Explained
Segments are specific sections of your activity route that are timed and recorded. With a subscription account, you are able to compare your recorded time with other athletes' and your own previous efforts.
This is the breakdown of the segments stats you will see:
- Name of segment
- Distance of segment
- Your time
- Distance of segment
- Your pace
- Elevation difference
- Heart rate (if you are using a compatible tracking device that tracks heart rate)
Where to Find Your Segments
To view your activity's specific segments, find the Segments section in your specific activity (run) screen:
To access segment features available to you, select the Segments option in your profile screen:
